Eine Biege machen – to break off with, to give up. Word-for-word translation is “to make a turn”. Mit Rauchen habe ich schon seit langem eine Biege gemacht – I gave up smoking long ago.


Der Bulle – policeman, cop, copper. Word-for-word translation is “bull, ox”. Niemand hat ihn gezwungen, Bulle zu werden – Nobody forced him to became a cop.

Absturz, Crash – hang-up of operating system, hanging-up. Word-for-word translation is “fall, crush, catastrophe”. Oh, nein! Wieder Absturz! – Oh, no! That got a hung-up again!


Ast – hand, paddle, claw, one rake. Word-for-word translation is “knot, bough, branch”. Ich hau dir gleich meinen Ast um die Horchbretter! – You are going to get a slap in the face!


Assi, Penner – a tramp, person without any maintenance. Mit solchen Assis wollen wir nichts am Hut haben – We don’t want to have a deal with the tramps.


Ausgepowert sein – to get tired, to get weaken. Word-for-word translation is “power”. Nach der Penne bin ich jedesmal ausgepowert – Each time after school I feel myself like broken down.


Ausrasten - to get a kick out of something, to be in ecstasies about, to get off on. Word-for-word translation is “to have a rest”. Ich damals einen sehr guten Lohn bekommen habe, bin ich glatt ausgerastet – At times when I got a good screw I used to have a great entertainment.


Anbaggern, anmachen, angraben – try to pick up, try to start an affair with, to flirt with.


Anmachen lit – attach something to, to make a fire. Da versucht er wieder, eine anzubaggern – He is trying to pick up somebody again.


Nicht abkonnen – can’t bear/stand something. Ich kann ihn nicht abkonnen – I can’t stand/stomach him.


Ausflippen - 1 to be at the end of one’s rope, to reach rock bottom. 2. to fly off the handle. Wenn das so weitergeht, flipp ich aus – If the things like that I will fly off the handle.
